The Top Things That You Should Avoid If You Have A Beard Apart From Fire And Ice-cream

It is not as if having a beard means that you need to make massive changes in your life, but there are some things that you should avoid if you have a beard. Well, if you want your beard to look fantastic all year round and to minimise the likelihood of strangers pointing, staring and laughing at you, there are some things you should avoid.

First of all, avoid other people’s negativity. If other people’s jealousy of your ability to grow a fantastic beard and/or moustache means they want to have a pop at you, let it wash over you. You will never please everyone in life so start off by pleasing yourself.

Of course, it is likely that there will be some foods that you want to avoid if you want to minimise the number of accessories you have on your face.

Powdered donuts

The number of calories and carbs in these sweet treats may put you off them, but powdered donuts can cause havoc for a bearded man. There is an old saying about sugary snacks that says; “a moment on the lips and a lifetime on the hips” but for bearded blokes, it is more like “a second on the lips and a full day of embarrassing sugary powder on your beard”.

Wings

The thing about wings is that no matter how tasty they are, they really aren’t a meal to eat in public and not something to enjoy on a date. This is the case for everyone. Cleanshaven guys often look funny at the best of times with their lack of hair on their face but their face is splattered in hot sauce or buffalo sauce, with morsels of chicken plastered to them, it’s going to make people laugh.

Now, imagine this scenario but you have a beard and it is mopping up even more of the sauce. It’s not a good look. If you’re looking forward to tucking into a bucket of wings, eat them at home and get in that shower after you dine.

The same scenario is played out if you tuck into ribs, so again, if you insist on diving in, get plenty of wipes and prepare yourself for ridicule. Then again, it’s going to be worth it isn’t it?

Corn on the cob

Again, this is a food that causes difficulties for everyone trying to eat it but if you’ve got a beard, there is a whole other level of challenges posed by corn on the cob. Those tiny kernels are going to get trapped in your beard faster than you can say “is there something on my face?”, and it’s never a good look.

Other food that you want to consider excluding from your dining options on include:

  • Burgers with all the trimmings
  • Noodles, especially noodles covered in sauce
  • Burritos

Aside from food, one thing you really want to avoid is a mangle. These used to be common to dry clothes but are obviously not a feature of modern homes. However, you don’t want your beard to get caught in one of these contraptions when a housewife is ploughing through her weekly washing chores.

You also want to avoid laziness when it comes to caring for your beard. Wash your bread regularly, towel dry it and then apply beard oil to ensure you always look your best. One thing we’d always recommend getting on your face is spunk because with Beardspunk, you are always good to go.
